On October 3 and 4, it is here that the ancient Ukrainian traditions come alive, folk and modern Ukrainian songs shall be played, Cossack sabers shall clink in the air – and the Cossacks shall demonstrate Boyovy Hopak.

And just like the Brazilians are proud of their Capoeira, the Koreans – of taekwondo, and the Japanese – for the battle art of the Samurai, hearts of the Ukrainians shall feel the happiness because the glory of our ancestors, the warriors of the Zaporizka Sich army is going to be reborn right before their eyes.

Black horses, the faithful friends, shall stomp their hooves, and Cossacks from the horse acrobatics theater “Ankor” shall demonstrate the true wonders. Across the wide field, near the Ukrainian small house, just like many centuries ago, the Bandura shall cry and break your heart – the instrument that has no analogies in the world musical culture.

Masters shall drive the potter’s wheel, and various crockery made of clay shall be born in their hands, the kind which was used and painted by the Trypillia inhabitants thousands and thousands before Christ. This is the time to learn to make small toy horses, plait baskets, embroider a Ukrainian ornament which would become a guardian for your house, and make the most useful toys in the world for your small children – made by a loving mother.

A famous fairytale teller shall also visit the “Kozatsky Zvytyagy” to tell the kids a tale about the Straw Steer and make the real character of the famous Ukrainian fairytale (in true to life size!) along with his small listeners.

There will be lots and lots of competitions and Cossack amusement activities for adults! At special areas created in the true old Ukrainian village, everybody who wants a fair competition in lifting of sacks, tug of war, throwing of hammer, fight on the boom will try their hand at it. The winning knights shall get all the glory, and respect, and nice presents!

For those who like their leisure peaceful and quiet can play the modern type of sports that has ancient roots and origin – Ship Billiard. This one requires not physical power but skill and sharp mind to win! If you don’t know how to play, that’s not a problem, there will be a chance to learn and to compete.

Among the guests, there shall also be the so-called Cossack Magicians. Those are the people who are known as “invincible”, people say about them that “they cannot be shot and they can make even the devil serve them”, and no fire, water, saber or bullet (except for silver ones) can hurt them. The modern Cossack Magicians know how to heal a wound, and they understand the mystical power of things and events. They shall tell about their skills to those who want to listen.

Of course, everybody shall work up a great appetite being in the fresh air! Each guest shall have a portion of the true Cossack thick meat gruel! I’ll be there as well, drink the mead and beer, and I’ll feel myself a part of the unique nation with its own origin, language and culture.
